Kaneyasu is a small friendly restaurant not far from Matsue Station. They serve fresh seafood from the surrounding area including Lake Shinji, and seasonal vegetables. They have an interesting dish consisting of Shimane beef, squid, shrimp and vegetables, called Hearn Yaki, which is named after Lafcadio Hearn, the writer who used to live in the city. The restaurant has counter seats where you can enjoy getting to know the locals!

Getting There:Take the North Exit out of Matsue Station and use the underground walkway
(towards the river away from the station) and take the first left. You will come to a small building on your right just after a new-ish restaurant that has a big crab stuck to it.
