Here you can make your very own magatama! Magatama are curved agate beads that feature in Japanese mythology. (See the Tamayu and Tamatsukuri hot spring page for more details.)

The bead is thought to gather the power of the gods when the holder visits a shrine, so many people carry it with them as a lucky charm. Once you have made your bead, you can put it on a string or a strap to create your unique and individual accessory!

Getting there : It takes 20 minutes on foot from Matsue Station to Kyomise area, or you can take the bus bound for Matsue Shinjiko Onsen Station from bus stop no. 3 at Matsue Station and get off at Shinjiko Ohashi Bridge on the north side. The atelier is on the left along the river, just near the Horikawa boat boarding point.
